Back to Center: A Simple Ascension Reset

If you’re reading this with wrapping-paper glitter still stuck to your soul, welcome. The holidays can be beautiful, tender, chaotic, lonely, loud, expensive, or all of the above in a single afternoon.

And now? The calendar flips. The house gets quiet. The group chats go dormant. The obligations start to loosen their grip.

This is a powerful in-between space. Not the old year anymore. Not quite the new year yet, but a threshold.

In ascension terms, this is where a lot of “energetic debris” floats to the surface, not because you did anything wrong, but because your system is finally exhaling.

So instead of forcing “New Year, New Me” energy… let’s do something better:

Let’s do a gentle reset. A forward-looking, grounded, soul-led return to yourself. 🌊✨

The Post-Holiday Hangover Is Real (And It’s Not Just Sugar)

After a season of noise, many people feel:

  • emotionally tender for no obvious reason

  • exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix

  • irritated, foggy, or oddly unmotivated

  • reflective, even a little melancholy

  • like they “should” be excited, but they’re… not

This doesn’t mean you’re failing at positivity. It means your nervous system is recalibrating. Your energy body is processing. Your spirit is trying to come back online after weeks of constant input. Think of it like the tide going out. You see what’s been sitting on the ocean floor. That’s not a problem. That’s clarity.

The New Year Isn’t a Starting Gun… It’s a Compass 🧭

There’s a cultural pressure to turn January 1st into a dramatic reinvention. But ascension is rarely dramatic on command. It’s more like:

  • a subtle “no” that finally sticks

  • a boundary that becomes natural

  • a craving for truth over performance

  • choosing peace so often it becomes your baseline

So here’s your permission slip:

You do not need to sprint into the new year. You can walk into it with intention, any time of year!

Mini-Ritual: Crystal “Watery Temple” Reset for the New Year 💎🌊🕯️

This is a simple, soothing ritual you can do any time after the holidays. It’s meant to clear the energetic static, call your power back, and set a clean frequency for the year ahead.

What you’ll need (choose what you have):

  • Cleansing crystal: selenite or clear quartz (or smoke cleansing if you prefer)

  • Heart + peace: rose quartz or lepidolite

  • Intuition + protection: amethyst or black tourmaline

  • Flow + emotional clarity: moonstone, aquamarine, or blue lace agate

  • A white candle (or tealight)

  • A small bowl of water (bonus points for a pretty cup or shell bowl)

  • Optional: a pinch of sea salt, a soft playlist, and a blanket that feels like a hug

Step 1: Set your “temple”

Turn off harsh lights. Sit somewhere comfortable. Put the water bowl in front of you like a tiny sacred ocean.

Arrange your crystals around the bowl in a circle (your “watery temple gate”). Place the candle behind the bowl like a lighthouse.

Step 2: Clear the static (1 minute)

Hold your cleansing crystal (selenite or clear quartz) and gently sweep it around your body like you’re brushing off invisible lint.

Say (out loud or in your mind):“I release what isn’t mine. I clear what’s complete. I return to my center.”

Step 3: Activate the water portal (2 minutes)

Place your fingertips near the bowl of water and imagine the water becoming luminous, like moonlit tides.

If using salt, add the tiniest pinch and stir clockwise once.

Say:“Water of renewal, carry away the old. Bring me back to my true frequency.”

Step 4: Call your energy back (2 minutes)

Hold your intuition/protection crystal (amethyst or black tourmaline) to your chest.

Breathe in slowly and say:“I call my energy back from the past, from the noise, from the obligations, from the overgiving.”

Breathe out and say:“I return to myself now. Fully. Gently. Completely.”

Step 5: Choose your one word (1 minute)

Pick one word for the new year. Not a full list. One compass-point.

Examples: Clarity. Peace. Courage. Devotion. Steadiness. Overflow. Softness. Truth.

Whisper it toward the water like the water is listening (because it is).

Step 6: Seal it with light (1 minute)

Light your candle and say:“This year, I move forward in a way that honors my energy.”

Now place your heart stone (rose quartz or lepidolite) in your non-dominant hand (receiving hand) and your flow stone (moonstone/aquamarine) in your dominant hand (directing hand).

Close your eyes for 30 seconds and imagine:

  • old energy draining down into the earth

  • new energy flowing in like gentle waves

  • your path ahead lit softly, not harshly

Step 7: Closing (optional but lovely)

Dip a finger into the water and touch:

  • your forehead (intuition)

  • your heart (truth)

  • your wrist (forward motion)

Say:“It is safe to begin again.”

Leave the crystals by your bed overnight if you can, or carry the one that matches your word for the next few days.

A Simple Ascension Practice: “Release, Reclaim, Redirect”

This is a 10-minute ritual you can do with a candle, a notebook, or even in your phone notes.

1) Release (What’s Done) Write down 3 things you’re leaving behind from the last year, like:

  • “Over-explaining myself.”

  • “Feeling responsible for other people’s emotions.”

  • “Saying yes when my body says no.”

Keep it honest. Keep it simple.

2) Reclaim (What’s Yours) Write down 3 things you’re calling back to yourself:

  • your energy

  • your time

  • your creativity

  • your softness

  • your confidence

  • your faith in your own guidance

Example:“I reclaim my ability to trust my timing.”

3) Redirect (Where You’re Going) Now pick ONE direction, not a dozen goals.

Not “I will fix my whole life.”More like:

  • “I choose steadiness.”

  • “I choose clarity.”

  • “I choose emotional freedom.”

  • “I choose a life that feels like mine.”

That’s ascension. Not fireworks. Alignment.

The 3 Questions That Set Your Frequency for the Year

If you only do one reflective practice, let it be this:

1) What drained me most last year? Not to shame it, just to notice the pattern.

2) What restored me, even a little?Look for the smallest proof. A song. A walk. A quiet morning.

3) What truth did I avoid, but I’m ready to face now? This is usually the doorway.

Your energy shifts fast when you stop arguing with what you already know.

A “Soft Reset” Plan for January (No Overwhelm Allowed)

You don’t need a 47-step routine. Try this instead:

  • Week 1: Rest + regulate. Early nights. Warm drinks. Less pressure.

  • Week 2: Clear + clean. One drawer. One inbox. One boundary.

  • Week 3: Create + commit. One small habit that supports your peace.

  • Week 4: Expand + refine. Add what feels nourishing. Remove what doesn’t.

This is how you build a new year that actually lasts past January (or anytime you need a "refresh")

If the Holidays Were Hard This Year…

If you’re entering the new year with grief, anxiety, loneliness, or complicated family feelings, please know: you’re not “behind.”

Ascension doesn’t require you to be cheerful. It requires you to be real.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is keep showing up for your life in tiny ways:

  • drink water

  • go outside

  • tell the truth to yourself

  • take one next step

  • let rest be productive

You’re not here to perform healing. You’re here to live it.

A New Year (or new "chapter") Intention You Can Borrow

If you want a simple intention to anchor into:

“I move forward in a way that honors my energy.”

Not forcing. Not proving. Not chasing.Just choosing what’s aligned, again and again.

And that adds up to a very different year or energetic beginning.

The Future Is Listening 👂✨

The new year doesn’t demand perfection. It responds to frequency.

So as you step forward, ask yourself:

What would my life look like if I treated my energy like it was sacred?

Because it is.

And anytime life gets loud or you feel yourself drifting, you can return to this same reset, release, reclaim, redirect, and begin again right where you are, no “new year” required. 🌊✨
